AIDS and HIV Cases (NY only)

Summary: Cumulative number of AIDS cases and number of HIV cases

This database contains the cumulative number of AIDS cases within New York State.  Figures reflect cases for individuals both living and deceased.  The number of HIV cases reflects all reported individuals living with HIV infection who have not developed AIDS.  This includes HIV cases reported by a provider indicating an initial HIV diagnosis or an HIV illness and/or by a laboratory reporting a positive western blot or a detectable viral load.  With the exception of New York City data, case numbers include the state's prison population.
