This database contains average salaries of full-time instructional faculty on 9-month contracts in degree-granting institutions.  Degree granting institutions grant associate or higher degrees and participate in Title IV federal financial aid programs.  Figures are in current dollars and include imputations for non-respondent institutions. Years reflect the first year of a traditional academic calendar, i.e., from the fall of one year to late spring of the following year.  NA indicates data are not applicable or not available.  In some cases, this is due to a failure to meet reporting standards. 

  • Prior to 2005, salary categories for four-year institutions awarding more than 20 doctoral degrees include all universities, regardless of the number of doctorate degrees awarded. 
  • Figures for for-profit institutions are not available prior to 2005. 
  • 2001 data are not available.
