The database reports outlays of the U.S government. Data from 2013 to 2018 are estimates. Years indicate federal Fiscal Years, Oct. 1-Sept. 30.
- Nondefense outlays reflects the sum of
- Nondefense: total payments for individuals
- Non-defense: all other grants
- Nondefense: net interest
- Nondefense: all other
- Nondefense: undistributed offsetting receipts.
- Nondefense: total payments for individuals reflects the sum of Nondefense: direct payments for individuals and Nondefense: payments for individuals through grants to state and local governments.
more- National defense outlays includes a small amount of grants to state and local governments and direct payments for individuals.
- Direct payments, net interest, all other, and undistributed offsetting receipts includes some off-budget amounts; most of the off-budget amounts are direct payments for individuals (e.g., Social Security benefits).
